|
|
Anyone know what the popular foreigner bars are in Ilsan? A new teacher at my school just arrived in Korea and I was planning on taking him out tomorrow so he could meet some other foreigners. I'm married and a little out of the loop when it comes to the bar scene. Thanks for any help. |

Coincidently, I arrived in Ilsan 2 days ago. I'll probably head down to some of the places suggested on here, either tomorrow or Saturday. I've heard that La Festa and Rosenbrau are meant to be good though. |

For meeting other foreigners definately Frog n Toad ( on meat street in la festa) or Bar Boom. (In the direction of WesternDom in relation to the F n T)
Although neither get particularly busy until 10 30, cos of the Hagwon-ites finishing work. |

agreed! frog and toad will be your best bet for meeting people, although there tends to be a lot of cliques. basically anywhere on the meat street side of la festa after 10:30 or so you'll see people (foreigners) heading into bars, just follow them.
there are quite a few that are frequented by the foreign population here. or just sit outside of the convenience store in la festa and you'll meet a lot of people that way. |

I agree about the cliques, but if people realise you have been here for a couple of days as in the case of your new colleague you might find people to be a bit more open to talking.
After all we were all new once! |

Try the 236 restaurant by La Festa. If you go down meat street, you'll see a big dalkgalbi place on one of the corners. Go towards that place but keep going past it and cross the street. You'll see a crab restaurant and keep walking in that direction past Miller Time, past the other crab place and keep an eye out for the shop's sign. It should be right after a samgyoebsal restaurant. Great Tex-Mex and standard western staples...burgers, steaks, chili dogs. |
