| Hi I'm not an Aussie myself but just a quick question. I was watching a program a few months ago about food in Australia. On the program they were showing this wierd creature which was referred to as a bug of some sort but I can't remember the name of it or even find it on the internet. It was more like a land walking lobster than anything else. Does anyone know what that was? I have tried searching the internet all day and couldn't find it. If you know anything about this wierd cuisine please let me know. The memory lapse is just killing me. |

Mortan Bay bugs and Balmain Bugs are basically the same thing? If it's seafood and had bug in the name then that's what it is.
There's nothing else I know of in Australia that's seafood and has bug in it's name.
Oh yeah, I'm an Aussie. |

| I am not an Aussie but spent quite a few years there and we served Balmain Bugs at the first restaurant I worked in. Looked like little Lobsters. |

The only thing I think of that meets this description is a Land Crayfish/Yabby. |

| Yeah I think it's the morton bay bug now that I've seen the picture but I think they said in the show that it wasn't seafood or something like that so I assumed it must only lived on land. Thanks a lot for all the answers on this guys. |
