I am planning on returning to Korea after a vacation, and I have a few questions.
1. These days is it possible to line up a job 3 or 4 months in advance? I would prefer to do this so I wouldn't have to think about it while I am on vacation.
2. Will I only need to have my criminal record check when I take my paper work to an embassy, ie will I need a criminal record check in order to have a company offer me a contract?
3. Where do I apply for public school positions? Through a government website, or recruiters, other?
I am sure that these questions have been asked before, however any help would certainly be appreciated. |

It's possible, but highly unlikely. At that time, either they don't know if the other teacher is resigning, or if they do find someone, it gives them so much time to either change their mind or find another school. Usually 2 months is about it.

"Technically" you only need it to go to the embassy, but in reality you need it to be offered a contract. This is so that the school knows you have a clean background and that if they hire you, you don't have to wait 3 months for your background check to come in. Get it now!!!!

Usually through recruiters, but some (rarely) public schools hire on their own. I believe you can apply directly to SMOE/EPIC without a recruiter, but I am not 100% on that one. |
