Im off to naju in a few days to teach in an all girls middle school in Yeongsanpo. Just wondering if anyone has information about the area, and more importantly if someone knows my pred so i can find out some direct information. Ive asked the recruiter for their details, but i guess they dont want to be found or something Sad

There's a teacher in Naju on this board, but I don't recall who she is. You can run a search for Yeongsanpo here and probably get some info.

I've passed through the area many times. It used to be a fairly significant port town during Japanese occupation, but now there's not a whole lot besides some examples of Japanese architecture. Fairly typical of what you'll find in the rest of Jeollanam-do.

Naju itself is all right. It has a lot of underrated historical sites. Another advantage is that it's quite close to Gwangju, a bigger city.

I don't know what "pred" means. Here's the website for your school:
http://www.yspg.ms.kr/

Fairly small with a total of 273 students and only 10 classes. Perhaps you'll also be teaching at a second school.

I found the native speaker English teacher's name, but no contact information. If you're in Korea you can call the school---maybe they'll transfer you to her or to an English teacher---but if not I guess you have to wait or continue to pester the recruiter.

Would you mind pming me the name and ill see if i can find her through my own awesome powers? Smile
