My brother and his wife want to come here and teach ESL. For him, no problem -youngish white American male with a bachelors degree in something and a few years esl experience.

For her, I'm not so sure - Filipina, Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. summa cum laude, (4 year scholarship) from a teachers university in Philippines; with a specialization in ESl; plus she has been teaching Koreans at a school in the Philippines; great English skills; barely detectable Filipina accent

Any schools/hagwons/unis/company classes/etc she could teach at/for? If not, how dangerous would it be for her to teach private ESL lessons? What could she realistically expect to charge per hour?

No degree from one of the major English speaking countries (US, Canada, Ireland, England, NZ, Australia or S.A) then no visa. It's that simple.

Since your brother is married, he can bring along his wife as a dependent. She cannot legally teach privates.

That is a shame she is a qualified teacher with a speciality in ESL.

She should be able to pick up some work on the side.

It's illegal...but so is prostitution and paddling the children. Laughing Laughing Laughing

She could leave your brother and marry a Korean. Or she could switch to a student visa.

They've already completed his work visa paperwork (she is being invited/included by his employer as she is his spouse). Would she be able to switch that to a student visa if she enrolls in a part time program here, or would she have to divorce him first?
