... will my GEPIK school take this out of my 900K security desposit? Or is that deposit only for damages made to my apartment and unpaid bills?

I've heard some people say the furniture the schools buy us is not reused again for the next native teacher, and others say the opposite.

Every school is bound to be different. Can you hide the tear in some way? If it's really small, maybe they won't notice. Maybe shove the chair under a table so the tear can't be seen.

Put a cover over it.
They will use the furniture for the next teacher.

If the chair is so badly damaged and you think the next teacher would be insulted to receive it, then think about getting the chair repaired or replaced.

I wouldn't worry about it. They'll probably pass the chair off to the next teacher and if he/she complains about it, they will either buy the newbie a new one or say it's not their problem.

The school will probably reuse whatever furniture. They don't really keep track of every single thing they bought you, but they'll know what big pieces of furniture they own, like the bed, fridge, wardrobe...

The odds of them making anything about a small tear in a chair is really remote . I would worry about the condition of the floor and appliances.

My school has an A4 sheet tabling all the items they originally purchased for the previous teacher and the costs-Any decent admin dept will have it on file. Anything on the list that wasn't passed on was purchased at our request.
Schools don't purchase items previously supplied.

^^ I beg to differ. In the photos of the previous co-teachers apartment, there was a fan. When they moved all the furniture into my apartment, the fan was nowhere to be seen and the co-teacher offered to buy another one. She ended up giving me the one from the classroom because she didn't want to do the paperwork.

Now, a fan is not a big thing, but neither is a rip.

I would say everything depends on the co-teacher. If the co-teachers change during the contract you're even luckier. Honestly, I would assume that 90% of the co-teachers would hardly even notice. Unless it comes to the attention of the Principal or VP, it wouldn't even pass their radar.

And, yes, they do reuse the furniture because mine is very old and some of it really sucks.

I guess it all depends on the people in the administration office in your school. I guess administrators are more concerned about their minor assets than others.

What's the cost of a repair? A two dollar patch? So they would take the time to do paperwork for that? No way. They can't make you replace stuff just because it gets wear and tear. Don't worry.
