I have my own particular theory. My thinking is that it might go back to the Japanese occupation. Perhaps, after observing that many of the Japanese love cats, many Koreans ended up not liking cats due to a perceived association with the Japanese.

Of course, I could be wrong. What are your thoughts?

SO THAT'S WHY!

Wow I finally understand. How about if we used some different spices or tried baking them. Would that make the Koreans like cats.

Thanks Tremdous you made me Laugh big

Konglishman nice theory I would not put it past the general Korean pettiness and their Japanese hatred. But in the end its the culture and history! Give it another generation or two and they will be mostly over it - EDIT * the cats I mean not the Japanese. Hell the sun will burn out and contract into a small iron ball and still the Koreans would hate the Japanese.*Edit

Wouldn't you also be afraid of the number-one animal that is spreading rabies in Korea?

Most people associate rabies with dogs. However, rabies in cats is much more common. This disease is caused by a virus that is almost always deadly.

Some cats get the disease when they eat an animal that has the disease.

Roughly 30,000 people in Asia die every year from rabies infection.

If you are ever infected with rabies, you will experience a state of agitation, suffer from severe spasms, become feverish, become afraid of water and unable to drink liquids. You will eventually die.

Since the first rabies case was reported in a dog in 1907, the disease was enzootic up to 1975 in Korea. After a steady decrease in the number of rabies cases from 1976 to 1984, no case was reported for 8 years from 1985 to 1992.

Then, a resurgence of the disease was noted in 1993, and a continuous increase of rabies cases was observed during the following years.

A total of 364 rabies cases in five different animal species and five deaths in human beings as a result of rabies were reported.

Cows, cats and dogs accounted for 46.4% and 40.4% of total animal cases, respectively, and raccoon dogs commanded an overwhelming majority (44/4Cool of rabies cases in wildlife animal species. All animal and human rabies cases occurred only in two provinces, Gyeonggi and Gangwon.

Maybe some Cantonese do.

My ex-girlfriend in Korea had a cat, not all Koreans hate cats, that's a stupid thing to say. I hate cats though, it's the only animal I'll try kicking when I see one. No lies.

Imagine for a minute that Earth has been invaded by giant aliens. Now, some of these aliens hate humans. For some reason, I cannot help but wonder what your reaction would be after a giant extra-terrestial has kicked you around like a soccer ball.

Bingo. It's for that exact reason that I don't eat my own snot. Alien snots might come down and kick me around like a snooker ball.

Cats are widely unpopular among Chinese and Europeans as well, mostly Eastern Europeans.

Like this country for example.
