What's the best route via public transportation?
I can't really find much of a bus schedule online. I found a picture of Sokcho's schedule board, but it's all blurry.
Is the best bet to take a bus from Sokcho to Gangneung, another bus from Gangneung to Gwangju, and another to Yeosu? Or is there a more direct route? |

sokcho-gangnueng
gangnueng-daegu/daejon
then to Yosu, should do it.
Gonna be a long, boring trip, hope you are not doing it during chusok
You could do
sokcho-gangnueng bus
gangnueng-busan train
and go from there |

There are four direct buses from Gwangju, Jeollanamdo to Sokcho/Seoraksan a day.
I went two Chuseoks in a row from Suncheon.
I forgot the bus times, I'll ask my wife later. |

That would be great. It would cut out the leg from Sokcho to Gangneung. |

How about flying?
I believe flights have rebegun in & out of Yangyang Airport (to Gimpo & Busan) & you can fly from Busan to Yeosu. Domestic flights are reasonable & easy. |

Yeosu is nice, but I wouldn't go there outside of Spring or summer. I've been there a few times and its redeaming features are its natural beauty. The town itself is nowt special. Look out your window right now, foggy, grey sky. I'd go somewhere with more to do there if I were you. |
