Or just be conceptual.
I'll soon be releasing my latest peice called 'Photon.'
The 'viewer' stands in front of a single piece of framed card with a tiny pin *beep* in it. Light shines through the pin *beep* from a light positioned behind.
Also coming soon -
Ulysses Re-dux.' This is my copy of Joyces' Ulysses but with a post it note with an insight I made about the book scribbled on it stuck to the front cover. Through having read the book and thus my neurons having re-configured it in my brain and also having put the post it note with my own interpretation on the front I claim to have actually re-written and in fact due to that am now actually the legitimate author of the classic book.
And - 'Destruction?' The 'participant' pushes two metal plates together and in doing so of course traps anti particles inside and potentially unleashing a force that could destroy our universe.
Vase(line?) this is my drawing of half of a vase. The 'viewer' then draws the other half in their mind and thus become joint owners of the piece and are able to claim a smalll comission for every penny made from it.
Zombie, grapefruit, Minister or YOU? - The 'participant' lies in a metal chamber, which is then closed. Inside is a piece of plutonium attached to a geiger counter which is itself attached to a piece of paper with numbers devided by ZERO on it. As the particpant is not being observed and not having their wave function collapsed and the gieger counter is attached to a devision of Zero, they are essentially any concievable thing in any possible number of alternative universes.
I'll post more as and when I think of them (around 2 mimutes time... from now...) |

Seed Bed by Vito Acconchi- The artist explores personal vs private space.
A ramp is placed in the gallery. The participants are invited to walk around the room and over the ramp. Below the ramp Vito Acconchi is beating his meat while fantasizing about the participants on the ramp.
This is known as in interative piece it's also conceptual because the idea is more important than the art object. What else makes it conceptual is that it has escaped the confines of commodification. The artist is working within the relm of pure idea. |
