Christmas is not really a holiday. We have a holiday called Constitution day which falls on 25 December, but the western style christmas is mostly seen in department stores, etc and is not celebrated by most people. The week between Christmas and New year will be like pretty much like any other week.
The big holiday in taiwan is the Chinese new Year. A lot of things shut down around that time.
