I want to cover the floor of the the living area of my one-room apartment. Where do I go for this? any suggestions? I took a half-hearted look around while shopping for other stuff at HomePlus, but didn't ask anyone there...

Also, are there any issues with floor heating? (I'm new to this.)

Thanks for any help.

You need to remember that your heating system is in the concrete of your flooring. If you put carpeting on it, that could possibly start a fire.

My advise- get a nice oriental rug to put under your furniture.

I wouldn't worry about a fire, but if you carpet your floor you will essentially be insulating youself FROM your heat source. I'm not sure what that will mean come winter time, being that heat rises and all that jazz. Actually carpeting your ceiling would make a lot of sense, keep the heat from rising up into your neighbor's apartment. So yeah, if you need to carpet carpet your ceiling.

I could reccomend a great guy if you lived in Gwangju. I just had carpet put in my apartment, not wall to wall though, we had it bound and made into a very large rug. It was very difficult to find nice carpet here, I don't know the name of the manufactor off hand but if u PM me ill get it for you. It isnt very cheap here either, we paid 600,000 for 360cm x 420

Don't worry about a fire, that is laughable, As far as it blocking the heat I cant see that that it will be a huge problem either. Sure, it might not heat up quite as quick but its not like carpet won't get warm. I was in construction before coming here and the USA has floor heating as well (if you can afford it) it's called radiant heating there and yes they still use carpet.

Ok, has anyone found a good-looking oriental rug somewhere? The ones at HomePlus looked pretty ugly.
