I just got my Apostiled, Notarized, CBC from Washington State. I have a question for anyone else who has submitted and gotten approved by Korean Immi with Washington State CBC.
The process in Washington State goes like this.
1. Make a web printout from their automatic system showing you have no criminal history.
2. Send that web printout to the State Patrol and get a nice official notarized letter stating you have no criminal background in Washington State.
3. Send that letter and web printout to the Secretary of State and get the letter Apostiled.
Now, I just got back the Apostiled, Notarized letter from the Secretary of State, and to my surprise, they also attached the (step 1) web printout inside the official Apostile. So it looks like this:
Front Page: Apostile
Second Page: Notirized official letter
Third and Forth page: Web printout.
I am concerned because they attached the web printout inside the apostile also. I hear the Korean Immi is trained to reject any CBC if they see a www on it.
Did anyone else from Washington State submit an apostiled CBC in this same form? Or did your Apostiled CBC only have the official letter and not the web printout attached behind it? I am considering carefully ripping out the computer printout pages from under the staple.
I know there are many teachers here from Washington State so I would really like to hear if your apostiled package had that original computer printout attached.
Thanks, |

Hi Drew,
Yeah I'm from Washington State. I came in last Spring. It sounds like your in good shape. Sounds like you have exactly what I did and there were no problems. Yes, it did have the original computer printout attached.
Good luck with everything. |

I went through a bit of a longer process, but that was a couple of years ago. I printed out a different form with a fingerprint section. I went to a police department in Korea, had my fingerprints taken and mailed it to some Washington state government office, and payed an extra $20 or so to get it notarized. I then had the forms apostilized at the US embassy.
Immigration is pretty fickle. You might be able to get by with a web form, or you may need to have fingerprint checks done. |

I also went through this process in August. I had faxed my computer printout to the state patrol, so it looked even more iffy. But I think those fancy stamps from the state patrol and the seal make up for it. Just don't take out the staple, because i think it becomes void if they are separated. |

Yeah, I did the faxed computer printout to the state patrol, so it looks really iffy (nice description). OK, glad that the nice official letter in front of the computer printout (and apostile in front of that) makes it acceptable.
