I signed up with a recruiter and had a job interview over the phone, was sent a contract and signed it. I sent everything i needed to send in order to get the visa, and the recruiter told me I should have my visa pin number within 10 to 15 days, this was September 1st. It is now September 28th and I still have not heard back. Last week I called them and they told me it should come this week. I don't know if I believe them. Did anyone else have this problem? |

A couple of weeks ago, people were having this problem, but at the same time, I received my visa confirmation number exactly 7 days from the time my documents landed in Korea, from Monday to Monday.
I think it mainly depends on the immigration office. As long as you have actually agreed on the contract with a school, and your recruiter is still talking to you, you don't have too much to worry about. If you sent your documents without having a school, or if your recruiter stopped responding to your emails, then you would have a problem. |

I don't want to panic you, but yes 28 days is excessive. I've been doing this for 6 years and have never heard of anything like this.
I'd imagine there is a problem with one of your docs or with the school's legitimacy, or that your recruiter has mucked up somewhere along the line (barely half of them have a half a clue what they're doing sadly.)
this is the point where I would call the recruiter and or employer and say
'Look if I don't have my visa app number by next week, I will withdraw my application and take another position. Please return all the documents that you can (which will likely be none, so If I were you I'd be getting new transcripts and CRC ASAP and praying to God that you never sent them your ORIGINAL diploma, but only a copy....)
sorry, and goood luck |

I was in the same boat as you a few weeks ago and I too got worrying comments like Dwaeji's which didn't help my state of mind!
My visa issuance number took a month to get to me and then my visa took 8 days at the embassy. All is well now and I am off in 3 weeks. Don't panic - I know how you're feeling though |

Fair enough. I've just never heard of it taking so long. Guess they're backlogged right now or something..... |
