I'm leaving a high school position at the end of this contract (Feb 2010).

Can anyone recommend an area in Gyeonggi to live that has reasonable air quality, but still isn't too isolated.

I heard Uijeongbu is good in this regard. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Also there's going to be a job available in Gwangmyeong 2010 year.

Uijeongbu is boring..........I recommend Ilsan (express buses into the city) as well as the subway and Gyeongi railway line. You have Lake Park for nice walks and La Festa, E-mart for shopping etc.

Bundang also is good and not too far from the likes of Gangnam.

Ilsan or Bundang, same as Murakano

Ilsan is pretty big though and does take you further away from Seoul. Bundang (basically after Yatab station) has some good spots-eg the large park by Sunae Station,Tan Cheon which is a long meandering stream with parkways alongside it and Yangjae is about 20 minutes away (tack on another 10 minutes for Gangnam Station) from Sunae also.

Bucheon can be fun and definitely not too isolated. Given that the worst of the pollution here blows across from China, I don't think there is a huge difference in AQ between cities in Gyeonggi-Do. Check eng.airkorea.or.kr to see for yourself.

Very good information

Thanks for the tip regarding air quality website. Very interesting and a little surprising.

I must have weak-ass lungs!
