I had a student in one of my classes who has a really high level of English. He was in a level 5 class. He's in 5th grade and the other students are in 6th grade. He was better than the other students, mostly because he attends an international school. We have another class at a slightly higher level with 4th grade students who attend international school. The kid in question wasn't getting along with the other students because he knew most of the answers and wasn't embarrassed about answering all of the questions. I noticed that the other kids all kind of hated him, and I suggested moving him to the class with native/native level students.
The head teacher said she'd think about it. After asking many times, no changes were made. Now he's quitting because he doesn't like the students in his class. If they took my advice and moved him, he'd still be here.
At least they didn't blame this one on me. |

| The only way to get someone to do what you want (in any culture, really) is to make the person in charge think your idea is his idea. You may not get the credit but at least what you want will get done. My old boss from my university days is head of warehousing for the Southern district now because of me. |

I have a 4 grader that speaks better English than my co-teacher. If the student was still there I would tell him not to listen to the other children because they will wind up working at Mc Donalds for the rest of their lives. If the co-teacher asks you if you made that statement deny it |
