| I am/was doing a PhD in English in Ireland (taking a break due to poverty), and I never had to do "coursework" as such. I know that the American system is different-I think they call it "modularisation", but you might be able to talk to your supervisor about using your teaching experience in Korea for some kind of credits. Or, you could just write some articles (which is my plan), and when you go back to America, do all the modules that were necessary and write your thesis. Again, I don't know what the system is in America, but if you have to take classes and do research at the same time, it can't be 60-80,000 words like it is at home. Or can it? |
