I have a friend from Spain. We both studied together in Japan and he needs a job and the market in Spain is horrible (much more worse than the states from what he says).
His English is great but doesn't have any certification (he could probably take some exams to get one). He is certainly better than any Korean coteacher I have ever came across. He finished university in Spain and majored in tourism and also is a certificated PE teacher in Spain. He is also fairly fluent in Japanese.
Him being fluent in Spanish would of course open up doors for a Spanish teaching position but I have no idea how many of those are out there.
What kind of job prospects do you think he has here in Korea? Would English teaching be out of the question? What could I do to help him out?
Thanks |

| As for teaching English, his job prospects are zero - he can not get a visa. Short of marring him and getting him citizenship for your country, there's nothing you can do to help him. |

Yeah, the rules are pretty cut-and-dry on it, he has to be from one of the English countries, like the USA, Canada, NZ, etc.
But he could always try teaching Spanish in America, there's plenty of need for Spanish teachers. |

| There is a little market for Spanish teachers (HS and uni) but major in Tourism? I don't think Koreans will be impressed by that. |
