Does anyone know of a good computer repair shop that speaks English? Can you recommend one where you've had a good experience and isn't too expensive?

I have a Toshiba laptop that is only a few months old and I'm having problems.

Yesterday it was working great, but when I turned it on today nothing loads. It just comes up to a black screen and doesn't do anything. I don't know what could be wrong. Its pretty new and I haven't abused it. I always shut it down properly and I have virus scan.

May I ask where you are located?

You really really should bring something under warranty to the A/S center of the manufacturer, probably in the Yongsan area, Seoul.

Ask a Korean friend to find the Toshiba A/S center and print you a map.

Bring an under warranty item to a local computer store and they will just pack it off to the A/S center then charge you a fee for something that was done for free.

A/S center means After Sales (service).

It's generally thought that only authorized engineers trained by a company to service their products should handle stuff still under warranty.

The Toshiba A/S center will do whatever it takes to fix your laptop, and, because it's still in warranty, for free.

Random guys in random computer shops cannot be trusted. Whether they speak English or not.

Unless you're good at reading Korean the website won't help you. That's why I say ask a Korean friend to locate the a/s center and print you a map because Yongsan is a maze.

My computer isn't under warrenty in Korea so taking to those shops wouldn't have helped. (I bought it in the USA)

Somehow I got a virus that corrupted my operating system

I got it fixed by "The Tech Guy" on Sunday. He's a member of this discussion board.
