I'm not 100% sure on the time table that Korea runs the school system, but I'm curious about 2 things. I see many talk about the 4-10 weeks or more of vacation in their contracts....
Does this vacation include the "summer" months when school is not in session or is this time in surplus to the normal out-of-school season ?
Are you "paid" during these out-of-school months ?
Sorry if I sound naive, But I really am curious to know. Thanx ! |

Heres the basic deal in Gangwondo public schools.
5 weeks vacation if you do a one-year stint, 7 if you continue. Must be taken during school downtime. Monthly pay as usual.
Student vacations are (roughly) 2 months in winter & 5 weeks in summer. The difference between that & your vacation time is taken up with extracurricular classes or desktime.
But conditions vary by province. |
