Has anyone tried to view Netflix instant-watch movies in Korea? I know certain sites don't work overseas...

I've wondered about that as well. I mean, it's a fairly cheap option for watching movies over there. And what's even better, Netflix's contract with Microsoft is coming to an end and they're going to bring netflix to ALL consoles, not just xbox, which is good news for someone like me that only has a ps3.

It's a no go. Netflix checks your IP address to see if you're in N. America. Up until last March or so you could use the Xbox, but they closed that loophole.

The only option that I'm aware of is to use an IP proxy program (Hotspot Shield, etc.) on your computer. Downside is that the transfer rate is very slow and in my experience it ends up being more frustrating than anything else. I just download movies now.

Choosing a movie to download takes 10 x longer than downloading it. There is Too Much choice.

What are some torrent sites good for downloading older movies?

Karagarga has a ridiculous catalog of old and obscure movies. A lot of private torrent sites keep old torrents a live, so old movies can live a long time there (or get reseeded very quickly)

Yeah, my bf and i wanted to get a netflix account here and do things legit, but it doesn't work in South Korea. Very sad Sad As a result, we're usually forced into downloading... Surf the Chanel is okay i guess.
