I have a matrox g450 dualhead lx video card.
In theory I should be able to hook it up to my television and watch DVDs (or anything). In bygone days I hooked it up to monitors (televisions wiith the convertors taken off) and it worked fine. Now, however, I try to run it through the video input on the vcr (and from there to the tv) but it doesn't work. The antenna jack on the vcr is coaxial and the one coming out of the card is of the patch cable variety. So, I figured I'd just throw a coaxial adapter on to that, put the tv on channel 3, and I'd be good to go.
I'm not good to go, however. . . Do I need some kind of converter? |

Your solution will not work. But if you plug it into your VCR's video jack and then flip it over to alternate source, you'll get a horribly blurred picture on channel 3. |

What can I do? Is there somewhere I can buy a converter? |

Try putting a tape in the VCR and recording at the same time. Then see what comes up on your TV. Make sure you have the right channel or input selected on both TV and VCR.
Sure, recording a tape every time you play games isn't the best solution, but then again, I think what you are trying to do is not exactly meant to work that way unless recording.
Just a guess. |

I noticed.
Or just turn on the VCR and press the "input select" button to change over the source from the cable jack to the A/V jacks. |

Didn't work, but thanks anyway.
I think it might be a problem with the card. |
