I just got back from a visa run to Osaka today with a 2 year E-7 visa. As I was passing through Korean immigration, the immigration official took my passport and entry card, did the standard scanning routine, stamped the passport, and handed it back to me.
Luckily I checked the stamp before I left, because he had stamped my passport with a departure date of Jan 18, 2010 - as if I were coming on a tourist visa. I pointed out to him that I had a visa in there. He gave me a perplexed look and did some more typing on his computer, rescanned the passport and departure card, did some more typing typing for a while, scratched out the departure date, wrote in "E7 02Y" in pencil, handed my passport to me, and sent me on my way.
I'm guessing I have nothing to worry about, but has this ever happened to anyone before? Could this cause any problems when I go to the immigration office to apply for my ARC? |
