Yes, as part of their push to get Koreans to obey traffic laws, Mapo Police have been given a Ferrari. That really brightened up my day. I needed a good laugh.
But a car like that in those colors just doesn't look right. And it's hard to sleep in an Italian sports car too. What they are they thinking? |

Hideous
More enforcement of the rules would get Koreans obeying the traffic laws. Not high priced showcars. |

Actually maybe it could be used as an incentive, you would need to catch 10,000 redlight runners at w60,000 a pop to pay for the car. Sounds like a days work. Maybe you would need to catch 20,000 redlight runners but i'm thinking definately less than a week.
For those of you who get upset when dirty foreigners criticise Korean drivers all I can say is try driving here. Yes we have too many poorly trained bad drivers back home, but here it seems to be a national sport. Competition is for jobs and race tracks not for the road. |

Sometimes the illegal stuff isn't so bad. I mean U-turns aren't always possible and making a left turn is usually forbidden. Going 2km down to wait for the U-turn dotted line wastes gas and time. I don't have a problem with either once there's no oncoming traffic. |

And I thought all the speeding was because the police didn't enforce the laws, not because they couldn't catch a Hyundai Sonata in their old clown cars.
I geuss now the clowns can drive a really nice car and still do nothing. |

I hadn't realized they had started construction on that tower already. How far along are they? |

They have been constructing on that site for the whole 8.5 years that I have been here -
however - so far they are still digging in the dirt (just digging the ground out)...
nothing has been built on top of the ground yet...
hence why I think I will never see the end product...
and the fence surrounding the site has become really ugly and graffiti'ed - they should repaint it - for all the tourists visiting Jamsil...
(and whilst they are at it - knock those terribly ugly old apartment buildings down opposite Lotte World - so ugly and old - they look terrible) - time to renovate...

I haven't been to Lotte World since '96. those apartment buildings looked old and out of place back then. |

Are the Korean police really this stupid? It seems their money would be better spent on upgrading their lack of skill and professionalism.
At least more comfy recliners for their desks. |

It's all about the status owning a Ferrari gives
I'm surprised they didn't buy local and support their own...
Now they can drive faster to the 안마s in those! |

lol. I live in Mapo and I very rarely ever see a patrol car, much less enforcement. Everyday it's teenagers honking, screaming, blasting horrible music in their scooters, and driving around like idiots, or an accident every other day because some idiot did a u-turn where he wasn't supposed to.
Governments have a strange habit of wasting money and making stupid decisions. |
