Samsung already has one but now all of the Japanese brandnames are showcasing their 3-D TVs. I found the article on a Japanese English online newspaper; the story, titled Big Japanese brands readying 3-D flat-screen TVs, was written by the AP.

Prices are in the 10,000s (USD). In Japan, there are only but a few opportunties to catch 3-D action via normal broadcasting.

The article says, that instead of those cardboard comic book glasses you may be used to, the new screens come with "electronic glasses".

Quote:
The new generation of 3-D TVs uses a technology that rapidly flickers between two images, together with electronic glasses that allow each eye to see only one. Without the glasses, images on the screens are blurry and a bit nauseating to watch.

Interesting. Life is becoming like one of those 1950s futuristic flicks.[/quote]
