I was wondering if anyone has been to Israel. I am going to stay in Jerusalem and may go to Tel Aviv at night. I was wondering how much it will cost to eat? I am not looking at anything fancy. |

I was there last Oct. and it was pricey! I was paying 10 USD+ for stupid little simple meals from stands or the food court of the bus station. McD's was pushing 8-9 bucks for a value meal.
Went into one kebab type restaurant and it ended up being over 50 USD. For a kebab platter! Outrageous. I ate out of grocery stores for a bit after that. |

Where did you exchange your currency? I understand the airport will rip you off. Is there a place around Seoul that is open on the weekend that will exhange the shekel for the won at a good rate? Going during the week is a little difficult with having to work. |

I just used ATMs. One in Eilat and a couple in Jerusalem. Just do that. Much easier, more secure, and better rates. |

So, you are saying it does not make a difference what Korean bank I use that when I use an ATM machine in Israel the fee to use the ATM and the conversation fee and whatever other fees may be charged,it is still cheaper than the airport or Israeli bank. By the way I use KB. |

That might be a question your bank would be better able to answer. But if you want to go traipsing around the globe with a pocket full of money, have at it. Sounds brilliant, but whatever works.
Oh, and don't worry about any conversation fees at ATMs. English is usually a free option. |
