|
|
In browsing the job section on this site, I've noticed a lot of university jobs have started to appear.
For some reason, however, they're mainly located outside of Seoul, often at "branch" campuses.
Is it common that "outside Seoul" university jobs hit the market before "inside Seoul" university jobs?
Possibly it's completely random... or maybe this is a usual thing. |

Maybe because it's harder to get people to work at those locations, so they're hoping to lock some people down before the other positions open up? They can still expect people to leave when they get better offers, but at least some would stick to the first position that was offered to them out of some sense of obligation....
I have no idea really, but this topic looked lonely. |

It is entirely possible that the good universities in Seoul have returning teachers and do not need new ones. That would limit their ads.
Note also that many universities do not advertise on Daves or online at all. |

Most good unis don't advertise. They get teachers by word of mouth. |

What do you mean by "good unis"?
In the past I've seen a lot of the good universities post ads on Dave's.
Can you give a short list of what you consider the good ones? |

Actually, they do. Generally the university rules require they advertise positions. Generally, however, the jobs are posted on their own websites. |

When you refer to good universities...
Do you mean "the ones ranked well" and that are "academically respected"?
or...
Do you mean "the jobs with the best conditions and pay"? |
