Hey, I am on my way to getting a Costco card via my gf's dad's account.

From what I gather a costco membership is worldwide. True?

Are the products they carry similar to the states? price and selection?

on the costco american site you can look through a costco catalog, but not so much on the korean site. I was just curious if I can expect pretty much the same stuff... ie electronics, and some foods?

Costco cards should work worldwide, but if you are worried about it, they only cost 30,000 or so here. There are electronics and there is food. Most of it is western, but that doesn't mean that they will have the same things. No more 1 gallon boxes of Goldfish or vats of chicken salad. They do have the huge cakes and chocolate muffins that kept my belly warm on cold Alaskan nights.

Be prepared for obscene markups on electronics (buy electronics at home! --> well, if you're from the States) and significant ones for western food products. For some reason, the 12-packs of muffins are cheaper here, though... maybe it's because they traded out the blueberry ones for disgusting coconut ones (I'm not a coconut fan).

I go there pretty frequently. If you post a list of products that you typically go for at your home Costco outlets, I'd be willing to take a look around for them the next time I go. I'm in Seoul, but I'm guessing there won't be that much deviation cross-Korea.

It`s a jungle at any of them regardless of location. The membership does work in all countries where there is a Costco. Tested it in 5 countries when on vacation. Prices are definitely marked up but you`ll pay it if you crave them.
