Any TTT players out there? My podunk town only has up to TTT at the local arcade.

All the kids here are Mishima/Paul/Law freaks. With a few Bryans and Bruce Cheese Knees types.

The fun part is these kids all spazz out when they loose to my Roger/Kuma or they get the joy of facing Michelle/Julia for the first time in their lives. Or me yawning as I spank them with the Williams sisters. Or Ganryu or their first time facing a skill Eddy.

A couple are alright since they are really good at wave-dashing. I have to resort to Kazuya/Devil/Bruce with them.

Only one guy better than me and he is hella good. He's also the only other player who can go random and win.

So how's the quality of competition where you are? I heard so many big things about Korea's Tekken, and now that I'm here- not impressed. Lots of 10 strings and counters. No one here chickens. No one can play a good Hwoarang (biggest surprise)

When I went to the arcade in COEX I hoped to find better competition. If anything it was worse. Where's the good Tekken here???

If the Tekken Tag thing is what I think it is, then I didn't enjoy it at all. Tekken 6, on the other hand, ranks amongst the great achievements of man.

Although I like to experiment with different fighters, I kick the most butt with either Lilli or Roger Jr. Mr. Green

That's a massive reason why I miss Seoul. No Tekken 6 around here, as far as I know.

I never understood why people love teken so much. It's ok, and I love the bowling simulator in TTT, but as fighters, Soul Caliber and Virtua Fighter are so much better. Soul Caliber is so fluid and awesome. Virtua Fighter has such an amazing level of detail in the fighting schematics. Teken is so clunky and simple.

as usual looks like we've got some real tekken fakers around here!!! You might be able to find some better competition in one of those playstation rooms in seoul that has picture of jin kazama about to do an uppercut!

I play T5 and T6 in Anyang, Seoul and Suwon. The level of competition is not as impressive as I thought it would be. My winning percentage in T5 is well over 65%. I'm new to T6, so I'm winning maybe 40-50% of the time.

Tekken 6 has been out on the arcade for over 18 months. I discovered it in early 2008. Take my word for it - it's out, and it rocks hard.

T6 is pretty old. Tekken 6 V2.0 is already out now. It's called, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. Some of the combos in T6:BR have been gimped.

In most of the arcades I frequent, there's actually more traffic with the Tag machines then there are for the T5 machines.

DAMN I LOVE TEKKEN.

Eh... Soul Calibur.

And Virtua Fighter is too deep for most people to take the time to get into. People just want instant fun these days. That's why games continue to get easier and easier.

Aside: Can't wait til MvC3 comes out... if it ever will.

So for you Tekkenites out there who's your character(s) of choice?

Right now I'm into the Changs and the Williams' but that's only to prove a point to the local H.S.ers about not needing a Mishima to win. Ling and Bryan was my combo for a while. A good SSer with an 8 frame jab (although her priority sux) and some decent juggles plus good taunts for flair. Bryan has some of the best WS moves out there plus Chains of Misery for flash and his punch parry. Against top level competition I would go Kazuya and Michelle or Bruce or Armor King. I really hate to use Mishimas or Bruce, but on bad joysticks Kaz and Bruce are safe options.

I was always fond of Lee. He had a good balance of speed and power. His kick combos are great as are his stances.

Eh, I've always thought Tekken kind of peaked at 3 and has since stalled. I played Tekken (6?) in Seoul and thought it was beautiful, but not much different than Tekken 3.

Soul Caliber games are great for about 20 minutes, then get super boring.

Virtua Fighter is the best of the lot.

You and me both, but I accept that it's just never going to happen. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is hands down the best fighting game. I'm so happy to have it on my PS3 now so I don't have to dust off my Dreamcast to play it.
