In sort of a bleak way,

I think the USD will continue to lose value.

I'll make bank when it returns to the 1000won to 1USD

For now, I'm hoarding it all.

Watching it like a hawk. I'm hoping that the won will continue to appreciate until I leave (January).

75% of the reason I stayed on for a second year in this garlic scented madhouse was the won returning closer to 1100, so I'm a happy camper.

Oh man...there's no way I could stick around here for just the money. I get so excited at night I can't sleep when I think I have less than 4 months left here.

By "here" I mean this school.

Yes, it stunk selling for 1280 to the greenback back in late August, but I needed to sell to get out. I sorta inclined to look at another year in Korea, especially if it improves like it's been trying to do during the past month. Korea is a great way, though boring in my opinion, to kill some more time somewhat productively, especially if you already have a few years experience with it as to know what to do and how to do it.

The only reason I resigned was to wait for the exchange rate to change. I am going to hoard until it reaches par, then I am gone!

There is still speculation that it could go either way, but everything is always speculation.

Speculation in Korean newspapers as well as the Wall Street Journal are that this trend will continue. We're looking at 1,000 won to the dollar by next year.

I speculate what you speculate is just merely speculation.

When the won was sinking vs the dollar the speculation in the newspapers was that that trend would continue for years, and it didn't. Basically the way markets work is that when everyone is screaming "BUY" is the best time to sell, and when everyone is screaming "SELL" is the best time to buy.

Now is probably a good time to start remitting some money.

I send every month regardless, cuz it could always be worse.... so I'm up and down $30/month... not as bad as being down $3000 all at once.
