|
|
My hagwon has broken my contract 2 months early. I have a job lined up for February. Can I stay in Korea as a tourist until then? I'm an American so I think I can be here for 90 days on a tourist visa. I would also like to take a trip outside of the country. I would be able to come back in for 90 days, correct?
Who do I have to contact about this? I know my boss will inform immigration that my visa is cancelled but who do I have to contact about staying in Korea?
And what will happen to my bank account? And my cell phone contract paid through my bank account? |

First go to labor about this BS before you do anything else. They could be trying to get out of paying your severance.
Coming back after leaving will get you those 90 days though. |

I've already contacted someone about legal advice and they don't have to pay me my severance. It's crap, believe me I know!
My job ends next week and I want to say in Korea for awhile before I take a trip. That's possible right? |

Not to harp on you, but was that someone the Labor Board? Never hurts to check.
When your ARC expires, you can buy a ticket up to the 30 days after the expiration date and bring it to Immigration and they can extend it to that flight date. However, I don't really know how it works when a cancellation happens. |

| I don't have to contact them about it til my ARC expires? Because that's not until December. But my boss will inform immigration that my school contract and visa are over... |

I'm pretty sure that canceling your visa cancels your ARC as well, but I'm not 100%. It's worth it to find the closest immigration office and ask them ASAP. |
