Who here has stayed in Korea after completing the year contract and had a painless switch over to another school? I don't have to sign a contract with a new school until mid-August, so I know I have some time, but I'm still searching for the perfect job. I already have the release letter signed, so the paperwork will be quick.

Is it better to accept something early, or wait until the ASAP offers start rolling in? Maybe schools will be more desperate and will give better offers? Anyone have advice or experience with this? Question

the switch will only be painless if there are zero days between contracts. any gap between employers will require you to get a brand new visa and do a visa run using a completely new set of documents i.e. criminal record check, transcripts, etc. and your letter of release is meaningless.

Contract dates MUST BE CONCURRENT (but work does NOT have to be concurrent).

Both employers MUST agree in writing.

You need:

Application
fee (60k won)
+ 50k won (if you want re-entry privileges during the extension period - OLD re-entry privileges do NOT carry over into the extension)
ARC
passport
NEW contract
New employers letter as guarantor (sponsorship)
New employers business registration
Letter of Release from the old employer

.
