I have not been able to find an answer to this specific question in the forums. If I am certain that I am leaving my school before the contract is up, but I would like to continue working in Korea in about 2 months from now, would it be better to:

A. just quit (midnight it) and start the visa process over again or

B. give them 45 days notice and keep the then 9 months exp that I will have, though future employers will surely find out I left before the contract is up?

I love Korea and I want to continue to work here after the holidays. Though, at the moment I am very upset with my job and need a break. 7 months of working me to the bone, giving me more work than is humanly possible to finish, then yelling at me when it's not done. They refuse to pay me overtime and I refuse to work for free, something the Korean teachers do frequently.

I am fairly certain they will pay me my last check if I give notice, but not a good reference. I hate to give them any more of my time at this job, but I want to know whats best for me in finding work 2 months from now.

Thanks for any positive feedback.

If you think they'll accept the notice why not go with that? Just don't use them as a reference. If it's better for immigration, it's better for you (at least in this sense).

Schools don't get records of previous work visas? When I find a new school, how do I explain the fact I don't need to go see the consulate again?

You have to furnish a resume to your new school anyway. It's part of the visa process and required by Immigration. If your resume doesn't match your Immigration history you may be denied a visa. You can recieve a permanent ban for submitting false documents to Immigration.
