With a Korean travel agent, is refunding a ticket easy to do? I don't mind paying a small fee if I get most of the value of the ticket back. I've read of some people buying tickets to get their pension, then refunding it right away. But, I couldn't find any details about that today.
I'm just a bit worried because a friend recently had to change a ticket they had purchased through expedia (or another North American online ticket site) and it cost 250$ just to change the ticket date.
Is there a standard refund process in Korea which won't cost too much? Are there certain local travel agents which would be easier to use? If anyone has had a personal experience with this, or can point me to a forum thread about it, it would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I won't help you with your scam but I can tell you and all other public school teachers that when you are leaving a school they buy the ticket. None of this you buy the ticket first stuff is needed. It is easy you tell them the flight you booked and then they pay for it. What you do after that is your own concern. You paying for the ticket can put you in danger of being scammed. |

Not trying to scam anyone. Just trying to navigate the refunding policies for flights. The school asked me if I wanted to book the ticket or them, and I said I would do it.
I intend to refund it, and I am looking for advice on travel agencies with good refund policies, capiche? |

The flight is for transportation. If you don't need transportation, you don't deserve to be reimbursed. Can you understand that? It's NOT a refund.
I don't ask for money for limousine services back and forth to school because I don't need it. |

Listen dad,
I have no idea if I will be refunding the flight or not. That is my intention at this point, but who knows, I may leave for a bit if I don't start somewhere immediately after the contract is done. The school wants me to get the flight now, so I am. If it turns out I don't use the flight, I intend to refund it so it doesn't go to waste.
As it also turns out, I disagree with your idea that it's just transportation. I see it as a benefit, and I think I'm entitled to the value of it.
Though that is beside the point, as what I am asking is for information about recommended travel agents and/or elaboration on standard flight refund policies in Korea. I will adjust the original post accordingly, to avoid confusing you further.
Regarding your limousine analogy, I feel that would be an unreasonable request. I advise you to not ask for it, even if at some point you feel you need it. |

In the travel forum there are lists of English speaking travel agents in Korea. I think your best bet would be to call them to get ticket prices...then just ask them what their refund policies are. If you hear what you want to hear, buy from that agency. |
