My friend's visa expired Friday and his principal has done nothing but give him promises until "the next foreign teacher is hired". The foreign teacher my friend replaced did extensive recruiting for the guy and was paid late and then became adamant about getting an E-2 visa and was put out on the street with last wages unpaid.
Heads up! Don't work without an E-2 visa or you have no legal recourse!

That's right. NEVER work past the date. If they insist you do, then talk to immigration about it. If they won't pay you, read EFL-LAW.com and contact the labor board.

If you stick around in Korea, you need to get an extension. There is no "grace period" after the final day on your visa.

I'm not sure if you can get a temporary extention that allows for working at the hagwon, or not. I bet it can be done, with your boss's help.
