For the foreseeable future my payments are $0 and the government pays the interest on my subsidized loans. About half of my loans are subsidized.

I was on the Income Sensitive and switched to the new Income Based payment plan. Instead of filling out the alternative income documentation I filled out a Federal Tax Return and that of course put my income at $0.

Warning: Nelnet's system took a full payment out of my account when my amount due was $0.

In the process of switching from one plan to another they took out two full payments, more than double what I have been paying. I called and my mistake was that I didn't renew Income Sensitive to cover me until the paperwork for income based went through so I got charged one month of the full payment. The next full payment came out because there is a checkbox somewhere when you sign up for the automatic debit system that takes the full amount out of your account if your amount due is $0.
