1. Yes, no problem. They are for international students. There are entrance tests - skills and language.
2. I looked at four international schools ( in Seoul ) and they were all very similar in fees. Facilities ranged widely in quality ( two schools looked like office buildings and had a rooftop exercise area, two had large grounds, sports fields, swimming pools, gyms etc )but all the fees were close.
~ 12,000,000 tuition fee, registration fee, new student fee, returning student fee, building fee, bus fee, US$ portion, etc , etc, so basically around 20mill per year.

| Thanks...I saw one from Daejon for about the same cost. Man pretty pricey. I wonder if a discount is given if the parent(s) work for the school?? |

Most of the time, if one of the parents is a teacher at the school, then tuition is completely waived. |

Keep in mind that there may be teachers in these $20,000/year schools who are not even certified teachers. Cough Cough SUWON INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL.
It may not be a bad idea to send the child to Korean public school and supplement their education with English hagwons. There will be smaller class sizes, the same or better quality of instruction, and a whole lot of coin is saved.
$20,000 per year is lunacy and you definitely do not get what you pay for. |

| if the school is accredited, you get far better access to universities outside of korea. that alone may be enough to justify such a hefty tuition. i've heard that there are a lot of shady international schools out there, but sticking a non-korean kid into a public school, perhaps with limited korean language skills in addition, is not exactly ideal. i'm not sure i'd ever want to send my child to an english language hogwon either. |
