I have searched and searched and I am sure there is an answer somewhere but I can't find it.
Can someone please tell me how I would go about getting a CRC from the UK whilst living in Korea?
And does anyone know how I would go about getting a CRC from the Korean police?

Okey dokey, get a friend or relative to go to a police station and ask for a subject access form. Ask them to fill it in and then you'll need to email them a copy of your passport and EU medical card, bank statement or something similiar [with your old UK address].
Get them to send it off for you and when it comes back, get them to go to a solicitor for a �5 stamp and scribble and then off to the FCO.
The only thing you need to do is send your friend the ID. Though you might have to get the photocopy signed by a Korean offical or solicitor in advance. I can't remember the current regulations on Subject Access checks off the top of my head. |

Any form of ID with your old UK address on it will be fine. There's a long list of the forms of ID you can use. It'll see if I can track it down. |

Disclosure scotland check should do the trick no? Just do it online, have it sent to your old da's address, get them to have it Notarised by a solicitor, apostilled by the FCO and mail it you in Korea.

Here's the Met's page http://www.met.police.uk/information/request_forms.htm . This will give you a better idea though you'll need to get the form for your local constabulary. It might be an idea to check with your recruiters if SA Police checks are fine for your province. Although there are no problems with Gyeonggi and �10 is better than the Scottish checks! |

This. I've done this 5 times since the immi law wanting us to provide cbc's came into effect. When you get it (get your parents to fedex it to you) get it notarized at the brit consulate in Seoul. Easy peasy lemon squeesy Japaneasy. |

| Can anyone confirm the disclosure scotland needs to be notarised by a solicitor first before being sent here? I guess I will find out because I am going to try and get it apostilled tomorrow at the embassy. I will report back whether they will do it without it being notarised. |

sorry DWAEJIMORIGUKBAP, its just it seems a pretty confusing issue. Even in this thread two people said you should get it notarised first.
DWAEJIMORIGUKBAP is right, the British embassy accepts an unnotarised diclosure scotland backgroudncheck.
