|
|
Was seeing if anyone has heard of this school or experience with it? Wonderland is on the black lists for Bukbu and Chunggye locations but the owner said it is a huge chain school. Does this mean wonderland dongjak-gu will be bad too? I have an offer here for 2.2 mil/month and i have no formal teaching experience. Is this good or should I seek a job elsewhere? I also wanted to know if Dongjak-gu was a good area and relatively near all the good hot spots of Seoul? Any advice would be great as I really want to be near itaewon, gangnam, mapo and seodaemun-gu areas. |

Wonderland has the worst reputation of any hogwan in Korea. I would never risk taking a chance at a Wonderland. I'm not saying they're all bad, but I still wouldn't risk it based on their reputation.
Keep looking for other jobs and ignore Wonderland offers. |

ha ha , OK i thought so. This is the 3rd school I've been offered and posted here on daves forum and they are all not recommended. Is there any good hagwons in Seoul or Korea to say the least or am I setting myself up to get dicked over? I will keep posting the job offers I receive on this forum so I can find out if the schools good or not recommended. Thanks and keep on with the advice on schools. I do not want to get screwed here. |

Keep on looking, jobs at 2.2 mil in the central areas are not so scarce that you have to scrape the bottom of the hagwon barrel just so that you can live near the "hot spots". |

Man... so much mob mentality exists in the forums. I know that I should avoid Wonderland, but I really don't know why I should avoid Wonderland. |

I work at anseung wonderland and I have an amazing house... NOT apartment... HOUSE. Good pay and a great boss.
However I do teach 32 hours a week. But these classes require next to no preperation time and the most students I have in a class is 11.
I really enjoy my job.
Before I accepted the position I had a lengthy chat to one of the teachers I was replacing. I suggest you do this, as I turned down several positions at other wonderlands before I accepted this one.
Also, stay away from Itaewon, that place is a shitstorm |

Be careful, potential hagwon people. Wonderland has been changing their name on contracts and on job listings lately because they're aware of their bad reputation.
Be wary of jobs entitled "____ dong/gu/si Language Institute." I knew a guy who signed on to one of those back in the States, flew all the way over and found out it was actually a Wonderland. He only lasted a few months before they fired him for no reason and did it again. |

What's Wonderland like if you are a Korean teacher? I got a Korean friend who is being offered a Kindergarten position. |

I had that happen to me. My school was called Guro Language Institue. It turned out to be a Wundorlanduh. |
