I'm curious, is SMOE hiring again? Do the people being hired understand the crazy poop that happened to the past recruits? I work for GEPIK and have nothing to do with this, but man, those poor people. Are you being recruited by SMOE? Be careful...

Lots of soju last night. Now crazy poop. Are the SMOE recruiters letting people know that their program is full of crazy poop and they should apply to GEPIK EPIK, hagwons, anything but SMOE? Poor people will be screwed out of thousands of dollars.

they are hiring. i assume you're referring to the august problem. some of the smoe people that did come have left already, so smoe is trying to fill them mid-semester with people who were screwed in august.

A few left during orientation when they weren't happy with their placements.

A couple got kicked out. Came back after hours and plastered out of their minds.

I'd give a guestimate of at least 50 have washed out of SMOE so far. When its time for winter camp. I'm sure SMOE will lose another 100.

I gotta laugh at this. SMOE screwed over several of my friends in August and previous to the August shenanigans. I just gotta laugh that they are now having to find replacement teachers because some of their chosen ones couldn't hang.

Yes, let's keep the August SMOE screw-up in the news. Hey, they might even raise salaries if they have trouble retaining anyone even past the 6 month mark. Or is this wishful thinking, ha? I'm sure glad I just missed the cut-off to apply for last August.

No doubt i'd be applying for SMOE about now if they hadn't screwed the last lot of applicants over.

It wouldn't be so bad if they even reimbursed their plane tickets costs but they dont even have the decency to do that, its despicable.

Why do you think 100 teachers will leave? Is winter camp that bad?

You think Aug. was bad, wait til you see the contracts offered to people who come between terms...
17 month contract with no bonus or 2 week vacation stipulation.
(I can't complain. I'm poor.)

It's because they'll have saved enough money (by that points) and worked long enough to avoid paying back the airfare.

Search for posts around Aug 09 time. SMOE hired 650 treachers and then 'cut' 100 two days starting date.
