So my wife doesn't do Dave's but obviously I do.
She sends me an e-mail that has me upset and sad.
My wife is doing a postcard lesson and she her co-teacher thought it would be a good idea to send these to some schools back home (U.S.A).
So my wife is walking around looking at the cards making sure the kids are on task and she notices one boy has written, I love Iraq and his friend had written terrorisits is my favorite.
The bad part is when my wife brought it to her co-teachers attention she laughed with the students.
I can be stared at and disscriminated against in public and talked about. However, this on a personal and proffesional level is completely unacceptable.
What would you do in this situation? |

Have your wife's next lesson be about the Korean guy who got his head cut off by Al Queada; with gory detail- find the video online if you can. Then the next days lesson could be about the Korean missionaries killed in Afghanistan. Put special emphasis on how the Korean government punked out and paid millions of dollars to free the Koreans they didnt kill. If the school calls your wife out on it, she can say that she thought it was funny because her coteacher told her these kind of things are funny. |

Discard the offensive postcards into the wastebasket and move on. I don't see the point in getting all upset over a couple of silly kids. |

If you did this, you would be my hero. |

This is an interesting post coming from someone with the handle "warmachine". These kids are trying to get a rise out of your wife, I highly doubt they have any idea about what's going on between the US and Iraq. (I'm fairly confused myself) I wouldn't take it too personally. |

Cry me the Tigris.
Correct the kids grammar, pat him on the back for doing the assignment and move on. |

I think it's great and that the postcards SHOULD be sent to the US! It would be a good, honest lesson for the kids in the US about the variety of perspectives that Korean children have |

Have the American kids write back that they love the name (Sea of Japan) and Takeshima. |

What's wrong with loving Iraq?
Loving terrorists is another story...but nothing wrong with loving Iraq. |
