I am a non resident of Canada and have been for quite some time. I heard in teh past the max you could send home was $10,000CDN, but someone recently told me you can now send up to $55,000CDN without being taxed. Anyone can help me on this or back me up? Appreciate any advice. |

You have to show a record of income. If you've been here for X amount of years, have the records to show you were working legally, then you can send that money back. If it's a large sum, you may want to head to the tax office first for confirmation (they may issue you a letter). |

In a semi-related issue. Do you have to pay income tax in Canada for money you earn in Korea? Seems unfair and there doesn't seem to be any paper trail and what not. Your thoughts??? |

There is no double taxation. But if you are still deemed a resident of Canada, you may be subject to paying the remaining owing in Canada. |
