Better than the Korean beers?
I must admit i like it, just wondering whether it's actually worth the extra 2,000 a can i drop on it.
Thoughts? |

I guess that depends if you think it's worth spending the extra $1.65 for the quality. |

Heck yeah! Asahi rocks!!! Kicks the crap out of C-Ass, S-Hite,
and B.O. . . . . I mean O.B.
The Japanese have been brewing beers for about a century now. Korean beer began as Japanese beer during the Occupation around the 30's
(I believe with Chosun Brewing which brewed Sapporo) which then became "Korean" beer after 1945.
Back in the late 1800's, the Japanese brewers sent folks out to Germany to learn from the best and even brought some German brewmeisters back to Japan to get them going.
The tradition lives on, with world-class beers; while Korea puts out turd
(woops, I mean "third") class brews. |

I like Asahi, but it's too expensive. Lately, I've been enjoying Cass Lemon. |

Asahi is THE domestic beer in Japan these days, but still pretty good. It's like budweiser is in the US. Still, it's a pretty good beer. I pay the 2500 won for a bottle quite frequently. Cass is 1000 won cheaper but who cares about 1000 won really? |

I love Asahi beer. All I drink in the states is European beer. One of my personal favorites is a dark beer that a German family brews in Shiner Texas. As far as Cass and Hite go, I drank some on the plane ride to Korea and I thought it was worse than beers like Bud lite (I effing hate that urine water that is "lite beer") and it tastes cheap. I stand by my statement when I say that even American Budweiser is better than Cass or Hite and anyone that thinks they are "real beer" needs their head examined. |

Soju, 20% alcohol: $1.
-cost to reach 100%: $5.
Asahi, 5% alcohol: $2.
-cost to reach 100%: $40.
Soju wins |

*beep* me dude...You sure you didn't mean to say "Lately, I've been forcing down Cass Lemon."!?!?! That stuff is bloody awful. If you enjoy that ModEdit, I think we can safely assume your tastebuds are non-existent. |

Am I the only one for Hite Max? It's as good as Asahi if not better. |

Asahi is many, many times better tasting than anything Korea has to offer. My favorite Japanese beer, that is becoming more available, is Kirrin. Highly enjoyable. Now if only my local mart would stock it, I would be golden. |
