Couple questions actually.
First of all, I don't know much about cameras or photography. I don't want to spend a whole lot on a camera, but I want a relatively nice and easy to use one. Any suggestions on good cameras?
Also, I'll be going back to the US in a couple of weeks so I was trying to figure out if it would be better to get one while I'm here or after I go home. I've heard camera prices are about the same, if not more expensive here, but I'll be losing money exchanging back to dollars too. If I get one here, I figured I'd go to Yongsan.
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks:) |

Might be better off in the tech forum, people there like talking about cameras and Yongsan.
Fuji 200 EXR? But there's cheaper ones. |

Buy it when you get back home. Even factoring in the currency exchange, buying it off Amazon or another reputable site will be cheaper than any dealer at Yongsan or Gmarket here. Also, some dealers here sell gray-markt items without full warranty protection or pull shady tactics like switching the original battery for a knockoff (almost happened to me).
For recommendations, I personally like the Canon Powershot series (called IXUS) here. |

Electronics are funny here, as some things are cheaper and others not. It is a source of endless argument on the tech forum. I find cameras a little pricey in Korea unless you can find a grey market one brought in from Japan -- there are markets in Seoul and Busan for this.
As for choice, I'm a Canon man. I really like their small cameras because they're rugged and have good lenses. But I've owned Nikon too and they're nice products. Don't be talked into buying something because it has high megapixels. A good, big lens, even on a point-and-click, is usually better. |

If you buy one here, insist that they give one some extra freebies? Like an extra battery or a larger memory card. |
