I remember reading that this had been talked about last year. That they were thinking of allowing teachers with only 2 years of school come here to teach, but they'd be getting placed in the middle of nowhere. Did that finally get approved?

A friend just sent me this link:
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/van/edu/1409692792.html
for a vancouver recruiter advertising jobs for people with 2 years of school, but the location is listed as Seoul or Pusan.

So were they given E2s or E7s? Is there a special name for the program they came with or is it wide open like everything else?

Hey,

I am currently here as an intern with GEPIK.
I am sorry to inform you that they are cancelling this program. Actually they already have. My school wanted to resign me, but we found out that I wasn't qualified anymore. Other than the TALK program, I don't believe that there is any other way to work here legally for people with 2 year diplomas. I don't know anything about TALK either.

I didn't even know they had started it. I had just heard it mentioned in passing here last year that they were considering it. if it is being canceled, how is this recruiter still looking for people?

From what I've researched as well, the TALK program is the only one offering such a deal. Personally it doesn't sound like something I would be interested in....I want more freedom to do my own thing.

Can't really elaborate on it, as I just did a couple searches. Sorry.

I don't think this recruiter is recruiting for TALK.
Talk's compensation is 1500000W, the recruiter is stating $2000-$2500 CAD
They're also advertising 30 hour weeks.
and mention placement with schools (which rules out E7 visas and going to English villages)

Do you know if that is different than the Talk program? He finally got an answer from the recruiter and the recruiter told him he needed an associate degree. But that link says 2 years of community college or vocational school can count. Can anyone recommend a recruiter that might deal with placing those kinds of teachers in those areas?

Its not the recruiter that's the issue. Hell! It's not even Immigrations call... its the new policies of GEPIK (axed Internship), EPIK (axed TALK) and SMOE. They are all saying (literally of this month) that no BA... no VISA for 2010...

Unless the poor stepped on TALK's and Interns (like me) REVOLT!!! Razz

Interesting..apparently this recruiter may not have been informed of that.
