In the past 6 weeks, there have been 3-4 threads involving the Wibro Egg, the computer mouse-sized wireless device that converts KT's Wibro (WiMax) signal to WiFi so you can use your iPhone, iPod Touch, Netbook, laptop, anything with WiFi ANYWHERE that Wibro is offered. People have reportedly used it in the subways, in buildings, outside, etc.
What we do NOT have in any of the threads:
English phone number - I'm pretty sure there isn't one.
Physical location where a foreigner can get the egg - My Korean co-teacher spent all day last Wednesday on the phone with KT about the egg. She found the website, spoke to numerous representatives, all with different stories. YES foreigners can get it with an ARC and passport. NO we can't get it. YES we can get it, but we aren't allowed to cancel after the 1-year contract. YES we can get it, but we have to cancel while we are still in Korea. YES we can get it, but instead of paying the last two months of 50k won or so, we have to pay an early cancellation fee.
See what I mean? There's a lot of conflicting information out there.
Will a foreigner who has an egg and a WiBro contract under HIS/HER name (not co-teacher, not K-girlfriend/boyfriend) please state where the specific store is that you got your egg? My co-teacher is willing to go to Seoul with me to help me pick it up, but neither of us want it to be all for nought.
