|
|
A while ago, I mentioned that one of my friends (more accurately a friend of a friend who is one of my Bible students), ran away from home, due to pressures about her Christian faith (she was raised in the Unification Church as was her husband, but recently converted).
I found out that things have turned out better for her. She had gone for a three day fast to one of the Prayer Mountains, and when she returned the family members decided to respect her Christian faith.
She still has to deal with being surrounded by family members who are part of the Unification Church, including her husband. But, at least, they have decided to respect her beliefs.
Thanks to all who offered helpful advice, and to the critics as well, as I am constantly learning how I can improve in the way I can show God's love to people through my words and actions. Peace! |

I am glad that she is doing well. May God grant her to stand firm in the faith through our Lord and Savious Jesus Christ. |

Just due to a moment of boredom and a tinge of mild curiosity, I'll ask you: where are these "Prayer Mountains" located? |

As mountains in Korea traditionally were a haven for Buddhists - and Koreans of all faiths love to hike - I think the prayer mountains are mountains that have been adopted by Christians. At least, i've heard of such mountains before. |

I always forget the names of the towns of the three I've been to, but they're usually located in mountain villages or towns. I believe the background of the prayer mountains in Korea have their origins in Shamanism, but the Christians chose to "Christianize" this concept in relating to how Jesus often would pray in the mountains.
They're basically operated by larger churches of Korea such as the Full Gospel Church in Yohido, Sarang in Gangnam, etc. with chapel services, dormitories, and some even have little prayer rooms where people can pray called "grottos".
I spent a week at Stone Prayer Mountain over the summer, just to get away, pray and meditate. They usually have a cafeteria as well.
It's a pretty good deal and not that bad a place to stay if you want to get away for awhile. Ask any church-going Korean you happen to know, and I'm sure they can recommend one to you.
By the way, the Korean Christians in the LA area also have a prayer mountain near LA. I'm not sure about other ones outside of Korea.
Peace! |

Thank you Cosmic Hum for your nutty posting. We get our directions from heaven unlike the garbage dump you cling to. Get a clue. |

Cool. The family members respect another faith and yet, the OP doesn't. |

Unless you can supply evidence that the OP has caused a family member to run off because they changed their religious belief then your argument is worthless. |

I merely mentioned lack of respect for other religions on the part of the OP. I clearly remember the OP's previous thread. I certainly did not say that the OP caused someone to leave their family.
Let me know if you'd like this post rewritten with some snark added. I'll be happy to oblige. |
