What kinds of drinking games have you played? Here in Korea there are so many drinking games.

I remember at home we used to take a song, and everyone had to only sing one word. If you sang 2 words, or a wrong word, you had to take a shot. If we were watching a horror flick, everytime some one screamed we used to take a drink.

Then there was always strip polka..

So, please share yours.

Boot- This comes from the good ol days when Gunter owned the Seoul Pub in Iteawon. Beer is filled in a large glass boot. The boot is passed around and everyone takes a drink. The second last person to finish it pays.

I like "Thin Ice"
Put a napkin over a pint of beer with an elastic band, then rest a full shot on it. players have to burn small holes in the napkin, the player to make the shot fall has to down it.

I played an obscene amount of 3-man in University. All it takes are 2 dice.

Everybody sits in a circle, or around the table, or whatever. You each roll the dice in turn, you keep rolling as long as your roll made someone drink.

First person to roll a three of any kind (total=3, or a three on either die) is the three man and loses the rest of their turn. Every time any three is then rolled, the three man takes a drink. The three man has to roll any three to designate a new three man.

7 means the person on your right drinks, 11 means the person on your left.

Doubles entitles you to hand out as many drinks as one die (double five, means hand out five drinks) to any one person, or combination of people.

9 is a social, everyone drinks.

6 means everyone performs a preset action (thumb on nose, etc) and the last one to comply drinks.

Any other roll ends your turn.

There's no real limit on the number of players, but if you have a lot, the three man will get very trashed, very fast, being unable to rid themselves of the three-man status.

Another game we played fairly often: Century

Very simple, you need eight beer and a shot glass. Someone then starts a stopwatch, or preferably a 1 minute repeating countdown with alarm. Every minute for 100 minutes you take one shot of beer. It sounds simple enough until you realize that's eight beer in an hour and 40 minutes. I've seen people throw and give up as early as shot 36. For added challenge: no bathroom (you barely have time anyway).

awesome game i learned recently called "*beep* the dealer"
goes in a circle. you guess the card. the dealer says up or down. 2 is lowest A is highest. however far off you are from the actual cards is how much you drink.
if you are right in 1 try. dealer drinks x. whatever you decide.
right in 2 tries. dealer drinks y. x>y
this goes around til there arent many cards left and its easy to guess the cards. dealer usually says "*beep* me" several times Smile

Up and Down the River

Standard deck of cards and a 3000cc pitcher of beer.

Can be played one player or teams.

One card is placed face up, with a number of cards (at least 4, but you can put as many as you like) placed face down. For example:

A(spades) * * * *

The player must choose what the following card is using these criteria: high/low/red/black. They only need to choose one. Since in our case the card is an Ace, the obvious choice would be to select "low."

A 2 * * *

This time, it's the low card, so the best choice would be "high".

A 2 7(hearts) * *

Middle cards make it a bit more tricky. Say the person chooses "black" (50/50 chance) but fails.

A 2 7 7(diamonds) *

Two things happen here. Cards must be replaced over the 7/7/2 to reset the game. Player would normally take 3 sips for three replaced cards, but in this case he got hit with double 7s which means 2X penalty for 6 sips.

The round finishes when the player makes it to the end of the line.

This gets really fun when you play teams, because people are constantly arguing over which choice to make, cheering and cursing each other, etc.

Drunk Driver:
standard deck of cards, no jokers. shuffle and lay cards face down in a diamond shape (as large a diamond as you're willing). the 'driver' starts at one point of the diamond and chooses one card from each row (the cards don't have to be adjacent) until you hit a face card. face card is 'hit the wall', drink for each card that you turned over including the face card. If the driver makes it thru the course, the dealer drinks (usually not the number of drinks equal the the length of the course, but a significant amount).

Quarters:
100w or 500w coin can be substituted. rocks glass and smooth wooden surface (table, bartop, etc). Bounce the coin into the glass. Make someone drink. Variations include more difficult glass to shoot at, 'x' consecutive shots and make a rule, rim shots count/ don't count, etc. I prefer to keep the target glass clean and empty, but have seen others play where it is filled with the booze to be drank when the shot is made.

The Original: Rock, Paper, Scissors.

If things are becoming boring, just stick your hand out to the person next to you (across from you) without saying a word and throw out a rock, paper, or scissors. She'll get the idea. If you lose, scrunch your face up like you have constipation and drink. If you win, make her drink and laugh hysterically at her. Repeat until intoxicated.

My friend just told me one. Can be played in teams, or just 2 people.
What you need is a straw, 3 coins, and chuchun one bills.

Each person takes 10 chn won bills and put them on the side. They are in the "bank"

One coin goes in the center. one coin in front of each person, an equal distance from the center coin.

Crumple the bill and put it on the center coin. Put the straw in your mouth. You can not touch the straw.

Then, you start to blow. The object is for the bill to land on or touch (you decide) the other persons coin. Loser druinks a shot. (or a sip, you decide before the game)

Next round. One more bill. Keep on going till the bottle runs dry. Count your bills.
Looser buys the next bottle.

If you play with teams, you decide the rules. One way is for the whole team to try and blow the bill, or there are too many people use more center coins and more bills.

This game sounds fun. So do the other peoples games.
Let's try and keep these ideas flowing. There nerer could be enough drinking games.

Cheers!

I usually played games around the theme of categories. Saying vegetable names without showing your teeth. Say your vegetable name twice then someone else's vege name twice. Showing teeth or laughing gets you a drink as well as saying non-existent names.

Similar was musical instruments, but actions. One funny story was at at a stein party one guy's instrument was a milk bottle. One guy who wasn't paying attention asked if it was an action for a BJ. He caught a lot of flak for that!!!

Anyone play "international rules"?
i.e.

No first names, no pointing, must use your left hand to drink. Any violation was another drink of course.
