|
|
I tried running a search for this but it wasn't working.
Does anyone have any experience with NON-UNIVERSITY Korean language programs? The only one I've been able to locate is the Seoul Korean Language Academy (http://seoul-kla.com/engl/s1.htm), but there isn't much information on it that I can find.
Thanks for your help. |

| There's always YBM in Jongno. Google the site and you'll find it. |

| I'm taking classes (private lessons) at Seoul Language Academy in Gangnam, in addition to the regular program at Seoul National University (really trying to pack it in). The school seems good and organized, and I enjoy my sessions with the director. A good friend of mine also teaches Korean classes there. Let me know if you have other questions- from what I saw online, they also grant visas if needed, right? |

| I took a few classes at the KLA in Gangnam. I thought it was fine, the teachers were good and class size was small. If you're north of the river, closer to downtown, there's Metro Korean Academy. I haven't tried it, but someone on another thread recommended it recently, and they have small class sizes too. |

Ive been to Korean Metro Academy in Gwanghamun and its soso. The morning class with the english teacher didnt go too well. She speaks almost no english and goes at her own pace. There are sometimes students who are also beginner but higher than you. So it feels like you are slowing the class down or the teacher goes at their pace and leaves you behind.
The afternoon class was good, she was always cheerful and spoke decent english. The cost for 2 hours morning and 2 hours afternoon was about 720k.
Im attending YMB at Jongno atm and its only 220k + 30 for the book for 2 hours a day. Again the teacher speaks almost no english but im a bit better so I can keep up, but I feel sorry for the other girl. Shes lost most of the time like I was at Metro.
Im just going to study with my gf, shes always willing to teach me.
PS: Im a bad student who never studies so it could be different for you... |

That sounds good, price wise and location wise. Could you give any more info? (i.e. what do you think about the material, class sizes, etc.)
Thanks :) |

Its good material she always has good handout sheets to give and lots of words to learn and remember. The book is expensive and meant to be for like 4-5 months of being there.
There was 5 students including me, 1 dropped realzing its not going to work.
Its Jongno 3 exit 15 walk straight for about 2 minutes and a big building called YMB Sisa on the left |
