| Does anyone have experience working for a Herald school? I have only found a little info on them. Mostly mixed reviews. There is an opening in Geoje that I am considering. |

Well... the schools are franchised so you need to be aware of that. The boss will make all the difference!
The textbooks for Elementary School kids are pretty solid with few mistakes. The Middle School books can be brutal if the kids are placed by age and not ability.
Watch out for the contract. The standard contract that Franchisees are handed by head office contains private Health Insurance (non NHIC), no pension, overtime at 18,000 won, and holidays were worded so that they could include weekends. Don't let this put you off though... I worked at a new school, and in the interview told the owner that the contract was horrible. He pulled out a pencil and asked what should be changed, and all new teachers got the same new contract.
Had I judged the school on the contract alone (there were no previous teachers), I would have walked. The boss was a nice guy though so I took the plunge and had a great year. I would have renewed in a heartbeat had the wife not been set on a move to Seoul. |

| Do you mind me asking what school it is in Geoje? I myself am working here in Geoje for a Herald school and I enjoy it for the most part. |

They didn't specify. They just said Herald NIE in Geoje. |

 How many friggin' Herald schools are there on Geoje-Do? |

Ahhhh... that makes sense. Now, all we have to do is teach them what journalism is (supposed to be).  |

Not if they're bringing people in on E-2s... but, they have several Korean lawyers directly employed (as well as some on retainer). |
