Thinking about cranking it up for at least an hour or two, but I think it's too early. I don't really wanna pay the huge gas bill. Anyone turned theirs on yet? How long can you hold out?

I was still wearing short sleeves outside until yesterday. The ondol will wait for some time yet.

My classroom is drafty but home is just cozy. I'll turn on the space heater when it gets really cold.

I'm a naturally hot blooded person. Last year I didn't even bother with a coat, just a light jacket.

The ondol wont get turned on till theres at least a foot or two of snow. Even then, I leave my windows open to circulate the air and balance out the floor.

My Korean neighbors already have their ondols on. I can feel it in my apartment, which just makes me crank up my A/C more (yes, my aircon is still on, hovering between 18 and 20 degrees)

I let the ondols from the floor above and below me do the heating for me. I don't expect I'll have to use it at all. Actually, I'm going to make that my "End of Korea Challenge"!. No ondol at all from now till the day I leave February 2nd.

I've tried to turn mine on already but I'm either not doing it right or it doesn't work because I never feel a difference.

I'm cheap when it comes to utilities, so not until my teeth start chattering in my own home.

When my ondol is going, I can feel a huge difference. My room becomes a sauna. I'll leave mine off for as long as I can. Maybe I'll even use the heater on my aircon unit instead. The electricity bill is a lot cheaper than the gas bill.

Maybe another month...maybe. My studio is fine, but the bathroom becomes killer cold in winter and the water doesn't get that hot. It's gonna be fun times, again (should've moved, dammit).

Not for long if you do that.

Hopefully I can go all winter without turning it on. My utility bills are already sky high.

Oh man, I know EXACTLY what you mean. Only, it is reversed - my studio doesn't get that hot, even with the ondol on full blast, but my shower water gets dangerously, scorching hot - with no warning! I am constantly trying to shift temperatures between cold and scorching hot in the span of one, 10-minute shower.

I walk around with a light coat inside. I will turn on my lukewarm ondol end of November.
